What are the key risks for GDPR non-compliance?

Simply put, it’s the loss or theft of personal data, an organisations mishandling of its personal data and not responding to Subject Access Requests in accordance with the law. An integrated and comprehensive strategy to managing this risk is essential. The potential threat of noncompliance can come from many different directions including; a lack of, or breakdown in data privacy processes, inadequate cybersecurity posture, ineffective training for your employees and insufficient assessment and management of an organisations vendors. A risk-based approach helps organizations to comply with the GDPR regulations, drive a culture of compliance regarding data privacy and protect the organization against the reputational risks associated with a breach.

At the upcoming European Data Protection Summit on June the 3rd, in London, Rob Van Straten will be presenting ‘Effectively Managing the Data Privacy Triple Threat: Your Data, Your People and Your Third Parties’ He will explain the value of, and how to achieve a risk based approach, and identify the technical and organizational measures you need to mitigate the GDPR triple threat surrounding: your data, people and third parties.
